DAFT PUNK: Pure Class

After a journalist described their punk cover band rendition of a Beatles song as "daft punk", the Parisian duo decided to take the hint and the name, drop punk rock and traded it for the dance floor. Quickly the pair (Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter) began to fuse the trippy/hypnotic/electronic/confident sound that they have become so famous for; slowly Daft Punk began to form the base of a whole genre as we know it today - French Techno.
Since forming in 1992, the pair have released 6 albums; all quality! From easy listening to some epic 'get psyched tunes', DP is one of the only electronic groups that have such a broad cross genre appeal. Easy listening, enjoyable and at times even somewhat thought provoking! My favourite track - digital love (unreal, almost like a story).

They have one of the best live acts I have ever come across; I would highly recommend getting to a show, or at least turning off all of the lights around you and watching the "Harder Better Faster Stronger" live performance from their recent and record breaking tour -Alive.
Most people like these guys, they even do some pretty cool animations, more of a reason to enjoy them. Multimedia is the future of music. Great albums backed up by quality live shows mixed with their eerie robotic/futuristic alter persona's and animation genius'; these guys cannot go wrong!

Check them out!

Enjoy!
